It is found mostly in standing water sources that have been infected with urine by a wildlife animal. Leptospirosis is a serious threat to our pets wellbeing.

Leptospirosis can be spread to pets or humans by coming into direct contact with infected urine or via the environment.

Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease, which means it is able to be passed to humans from animals. Zoonosis mean that your family could also be at risk.
What can I do to protect my dog?
Vaccinations! Vaccinating your dog annually for leptospirosis is the best way to protect them from this disease. Also, keeping your dog from drinking out of rivers, lakes, and standing water sources can help prevent them from coming into contact with lepto.
