Kim has been a Kennel Assistant at Bellwood Animal Hospital since 2012 after moving to Rockford from Chicago. She brings over 50 years of animal care experience including raptor handling and training, reptile husbandry and working at a no-kill animal shelter. Kim has had her own collection of snakes and lizards for over 20 years. In the past, she has volunteered at the Sonoran Desert Museum in Arizona where she cared for reptiles and Illinois Raptor Rehab and Education in Loves Park. Since 1995 she has also volunteered at Willowbrook Wildlife Center in Glen Ellyn, IL, as a raptor interpreter.
Kim loves to engage with our clients, ensure their needs are met and make sure our feline friends are always offered a towel sprayed with Feliway to ease their anxiety. She is married and has two cats of her own, Iggy and Muddy. When she isn't working, Kim likes spending time in nature, including hikes in the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming and bird watching, as well as listening to a variety of music.
